And in the beginning..............

So, this is Day 1 of blogging. Still very new to me..... I think I'll like it though. A little bit about me and what has led me to this new adventure! After serving in the US Army (Cold War Vet) as an Accounting Technician, followed by employment as a Local Veterans Employment Representative with the State of WV for over 23 years, and then wrapping up my State employment as an Accounting Technician III for the WV Div of Culture and History / Museums, I have decided to retire! Yep! The magic number of "80"! No "early" retirement for this chick. For those of you unfamiliar with the "rule of 80".....in order to retire, your age (the employee's) and your age of service (the employee's) must equal or add up to 80! So, I actually could've, should've retired last March (2013)! And, had my military service counted towards my retirement (3 years active duty), I could've retired 3+ years ago. Oh well! My active duty in the Cold War doesn't qualify me to be a member of the American Legion either....hmmmmm! Look at the money and financial support this organization is missing out by not permitting those few of us to join! Til next time, just sayin'...........
